Envious No More
Foamy waves crashed onto the sandy beach as I sat and watched the humans. They were all just playing together, children and adult, no outcasts to be seen. How I envied their lives, wishing that I could just play with them for a little while. But alas, I cannot, because there are some humans that hunt my kind and take them for their wives. Selkies, or what I am, must obey the person who steals their seal skin, so I can only come out of the water at night.
